Peridot is designed to help teams turn research into action. We take data privacy seriously and are committed to handling your information with transparency and care. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the rights you have over your data.

Information We Collect
When you create an account, we collect basic account information such as your name, email address, organization name, and billing details. Billing information is processed securely by our payment provider and is not stored directly by Peridot.
Peridot also processes the research data you choose to upload or connect to the platform. This may include interview recordings and transcripts, support tickets, sales calls, survey responses, research goals, and study metadata. This content remains your data and is processed solely to provide the services described within the platform.
In addition, we collect limited technical and usage information such as feature usage, interaction logs, device and browser details, and error reports. This information helps us operate, maintain, and improve the reliability of the product. We do not intentionally collect sensitive personal data unless it is included in the research content you upload.
How We Use Your Information
We use your information to provide and improve Peridot’s services. This includes analyzing uploaded content, generating insights and summaries, surfacing results aligned to your research goals, maintaining system performance, and providing customer support. We do not sell your data and we do not use your research content for advertising purposes. Your uploaded research data is used only within your workspace to deliver the functionality of the platform.
AI Processing
Peridot uses third-party AI services to analyze content you upload (for example, transcripts and research materials) and to generate insights, summaries, and other outputs within your workspace. Specifically, we use:
AssemblyAI — speech-to-text and related audio processing where those features are enabled in the product.
OpenAI — language models including GPT-4.1-mini, GPT-4o-mini, and GPT-3.5-turbo (or whichever subset you actually use) for text analysis, summarization, and similar features.
These providers process data only as needed to provide Peridot’s services, under our instructions and applicable agreements. We do not use your private research content to train public models for these providers in a way that exposes your data across customers; [keep or tighten this sentence to match your actual OpenAI/AssemblyAI settings and contracts].
Outputs are generated in the context of your workspace and are not shared across customers for these purposes.
Data Sharing
We share data only with trusted third-party service providers that help us operate Peridot, such as cloud hosting providers, infrastructure partners, analytics services, and payment processors. These providers are bound by confidentiality and data protection obligations. We do not share your data with advertisers or unrelated third parties.
To deliver AI features, we engage the subprocessors described in AI Processing above (including AssemblyAI and OpenAI). They are permitted to process data only to provide the services we configure and are subject to confidentiality and data protection obligations.
Data Security
We implement industry-standard security practices to protect your information. This includes encrypted data transmission, encrypted storage, access controls, and continuous monitoring for potential vulnerabilities. While no system can guarantee absolute security, we take reasonable and appropriate measures to safeguard your data.
Data Ownership and Control
You retain ownership of the research content you upload to Peridot. You may export your data, delete individual studies, or request full account deletion at any time. Upon account deletion, your data will be removed from active systems within a reasonable timeframe, subject to standard backup retention policies.
Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information, restrict certain processing activities, or request a copy of your data. If you would like to exercise these rights, you can contact us at support@askperidot.com
Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as necessary to provide our services. We may retain limited information for legal, security, or operational purposes as required by law.
